Reopening Plan - June 1, 2020
HOW DOES CROSSPOINT
OPEN BACK UP?
Drawing from your answers to the reopening survey, governmental regulations, and wisdom from other local churches, here's the outline of how we'll worship over the next few months.
1. Online services will continue into the future. Those who would like to stay at home or who live far way will have the same great experience they do now. There will be a mixture of pre-recorded live and live streamed experiences. Every weekend. From now until Jesus returns.
2. Drive in worship will be offered beginning June 7th at 9:00am and continue weekly through the summer. First Sundays of each month will have a live band and live message, while other Sundays will be a 'Drive-In movie' experience. Guides for what activities we can or cannot do socially while together in the parking lot will change over the summer based on what is allowed/recommended for our locality. We will respect the current regulations from our local government while joining churches around the state in encouraging the government to apply the regulations fairly and consistently. We hope to have increasing freedom throughout the summer, but only as the health of our wider community improves.
3. Communion will be offered at every service at Crosspoint's physical location beginning June 7th. The method will be different than usual. Prepackaged wine/bread or grape juice/bread will be offered to each person. At the specified time in the service, we will all eat and drink together, at the same time. As always, GF wafers will be available.
4. Inside worship services have resumed (August 15) once our area is approved for at least 50 people to gather together. We sure hope that this will happen before the end of summer (it did!).
Of course, basic safety precautions will be taken. Gloves and masks will be work by any volunteers who are interacting closely with others. Hand sanitizer will be available. Any interior areas used will be cleaned thoroughly. When inside, masks are required.
As always, if you are feeling ill or are not quite ready to be out among people again, stay home and join us online! If you are itching to get back to worship & seeing people, hugging your friends, high-fiving kids, and kissing babies - please be patient. We will get there...gradually.
This time has been a huge challenge for all of us. It continues to be an opportunity to exercise patience and kindness as an expression of Jesus' love at work within us - and for the good of our community.
Let's continue to lead the way in this, so that more people will discover their best life is only found when they're connected with God!
