1. Baptism is about what God is doing.
Baptism is one of the miraculous means of God’s grace, poured out on a believer. This act creates and/or strengthens the gift of faith in a person’s heart. (Rom. 6:1-4)
2. Mode doesn’t matter. It’s about the water and the word...
Although we practice sprinkle here at Crosspoint, we believe that both methods of baptism (sprinkle and immersion) are valid and graceful in the eyes of the Lord. (Eph 5:26-27)
3. It is a free gift for “kids” of all ages.
We baptize any and all who wish to be, from infants to elderly. It brings us into Christ’s family, together. (Acts 2:339)
4. It is a physical sign of God’s love & our adoption into his family.
Matthew 3:16-17 (ESV) - and when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold a voice from the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
